Corbin Times-Tribune: A new hope for green

More jobs are coming for rural Whitley County with the construction of a new electric car manufacturing plant. The Corbin Times-Tribune has the complete story. Kentucky is positioned to be a big part of the new energy economy in all areas, including the automotive industry.

"The month of September ended without any sign of Global Green Cars moving into Whitley County as promised by company officials, but hope was renewed late Saturday night when a truckload of the company’s equipment arrived in Williamsburg.

During a special meeting of the Whitley County Fiscal Court Thursday morning, Judge-Executive Pat White Jr. said county and city officials finalized an agreement with Global Green Cars relating to the lease of the former Lion Apparel building located at the end of 13th Street in Williamsburg. He said the City of Williamsburg and the Whitley County Fiscal Court will jointly pay for the first four months of the property’s lease."
